One would think

I am going to get one of those little turkey breasts, or whatever they're called, some potatoes and have a little turkey dinner myself, Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, And maybe some kind of dinner rolls. I am on my own this year; I really am. I look forward to the smell of the food cooking, lounging comfortably, reading, maybe finding something good to watch on the t.v. Or a good movie. It's gonna be alright. I will get to go home, Not for the most joyous occassion, It bums me out the closer that it gets. But, I am thankful to be going home, to see my church lady friends, My little sister and her rotten kids whom I love to death....To pieces I tell you. I washed my laundry, cleaned up and have a rough idea of what clothing I am going to take on my trip. I called my 90-year-old bestfriend to say I'd be home. She of course reminded me I have my own key, If she isn't there when I get there! Uhmmmm...I don't know where the damn key is. One, would think, I was the 90-year-old. I thought I sent it back to her; Now, I'm really going to have to look and dig around for the damn thing.

I am trying to write something every single day. I used to really want to be a good writer; And, I find my social life has taken over here....Where I am supposed to be practicing writing? Yeh, whatever. I've gotten extremely sarcastic and I am going to blame that horrible little trait on Blogland-world place....Me and a whole bunch of ladies went out and had lunch together today; It was funny, one had to be a supervising, boss type...There were six of us; And, we all almost wanted to have a margarita with our lunch...And, someone policed the hell out of us. DAMNIT, anyway. Oh well, we did have a very pleasant ladies lunch....Followed up with some fine consumer therapy. The NFL season isI think all but almost done for awhile. Onward and upward to the NBA. Damn, those Boston Celtics are kicking butt, man. The Lakers are doing real good too. People keep saying the Trailblazers are doing good, Nah. They're about average I think. I hate to say I feel no loyalty to my new hometown sport teams, Yet.

Since I am from Washington State despite, their horrid team scoreboard, or even lack of a basketball team, I am a little loyal to the teams of Washington. Just because. Just because, I don't know why? I love to watch sports; I don't know a lot about the rules and stuff. I know a little bit, Enough I guess. I should get one of those 'The Complete Idiot's Guide to the NFL', I wonder if they have it in hardback?

Streaks of blond

Bible study is over with for a little while; I had my hair colored, I absolutely love how it turned out. I had it lightened, with a tint of red, and streaks of blond, Small sweet delicate streaks of blond. I had it colored Saturday afternoon, the hairstylist told me to not wash it till this a.m.
That was hard to do, I shower and wash my hair everyday. And, then when I was washing it this a.m. I thought, huh...gasp, what if it turns orange, or green or blue or something? (Wheew, it didn't.)
I've gained weight since I've moved; I am not, Big, huge, big or even close. Just, heavier than I am used to being. I feel like I am on the right track though, With my new hair color I feel like I can start working out, Like I used to.
Isn't that strange; I hear an old, inquisitive, gotta understand everything Mark as he says, 'I wonder why that is? Why is that, Do you think, Melisa?'
Uh...I don't know. Here it is my first holiday, in a new city, alone and on my own. It won't be for too long though. I have to go home to see a friend buried, the weekend of Thanksgiving. She was a lovely, lovely, strong lady. Just a good person. A real good person. And, I sort a look forward to going home; Even, if for a second, a minute or two. To see my friends, go to my old church and to see at least one of my family members..While, I can. To do the right thing; Just like a person can only be born into the world once, So they can only die out of the world once. It is one of those occassions, One should honor. I want to be there for my bestfriend. I have a 90-year-old bestfriend and though she won't say it outloud (Strong, stubborn, Yeh is it a wonder she's my bestfriend.) I know she would like to have a friend with her as she says good bye to someone whose been a good and bestfriend to her. I have to go, it is the right thing to do. Why do I feel like I am trying to convince someone? Why do I feel like, I have, to convince someone? I am a grown woman; I live alone, make my own money and can pay my own way home to go to a funeral. Why do I have to answer to anyone.

Well I am almost done with my cheesy favorite book of the moment, 'Twilight.'
Yep, I said Twilight. I've enjoyed it so darn much; I am surprised at myself. I will buy the sequels, in Hardcopy too. It was a hard thing to admit, It was.
I am a book snob. They say admitting one has a problem, is half of the battle. Yet, somehow, I don't think I'll be able to help being a book snob. I don't think I can win that fight. Heck, I don't even think I'll try it. It is Monday night and I am missing CSI Miami, And maybe I'll go rooting and foraging for some sort of snack to snack on....And finish my book...
