Let the night come

My heart is aching; I could see it, within bursting
and breaking.
Something is missing; something is wrong. Where has the warmth of this world gone?

Silence, and yet still more silence. I used to dream when I was a little girl, of being in love. I used to dream when I was a child that in my existence there'd be a man
a loving relationship for me.
I used to dream of a house filled with laughter; a home filled with flowers.

Friends, and lovers talking together for hours.

Something is missing; something is wrong.

I will force myself to dream, till the ache and emptiness subside. I will bury myself in wishes and hopes till remnants of this flattened-deflated-shell of love have died.

I will walk into the darkest, blackest of emptiest nights, beyond the fullness of the moon.
Love has all
but gone.

I will lay under a blanket of the brightest stars; till God has mercy on my lonely soul.
Something is missing; something is wrong.
I'll shut my eyes ever tightly; and pray for the sandman to sing for me, sweetly. I'll ask the maker of dreams for soft
for sweet
for warm
for bright and laughter.

I dream of cool ocean water spilling over my toes
I dream of a gentle breeze tussling my hair over my nose
I dream of deepest-purest-grandest of blue skies
I dream of soaring on the great North wind
I dream of being loved
I dream of whispers, as you hold my fingertips
I dream of that first and final kiss

Let the night come; let the dreams begin. Open up the heavens to take my wounded heart in. Let the Sun go down; the noises of life fall deaf.

Greatest Art

You've thrown my heart away; rolled it out the door.
You believe such a love could come again, on another day. Wasted chances, empty moments with fractured, shattered broken dreams of what
could have been.
One day you'll wake up and I'll be gone.
One moment, you will reach out your fingers in search of mine...and, there will only be a cold-brisk air....to find.

You'll raise your eyelids, and rub away the dusty dreamy places your soul had been in...and, under the cover of night. Through every thought and emotion in me I hold to be right.
I'll have walked away; buried in a darkened night.

Where once my heart burned, flamed and shone for only you. When at one time my life, and the moving powers within were only yours. You've injured me, and torn my life to shreds. You've hurt my, already wounded-tattered heart.
I have to go; to make a new and different start. I'll turn to walk away; with no parting words to say. I'll softly-sweetly kiss you upon the cheek and I'll go

To where no one thinks, the things I say and do and believe---make me look as though I'm weak. Perhaps, you never wanted me to be close; perhaps you didn't ever want me near. Perhaps, you hated me from the start. Which ever, I have to go and hide, bury, protect and guard my already wounded heart.

As the wind blows and the waves of the ocean rise and fall. As a bird calls, and the stars ever glisten and shine. I thank good fortune, good dreams, all and any good constant powerful thing. I thank the stars above, and the ancient wishing well. I thank the fairy dust; the butterfly wings which carry the dust of hopeful-loving dreams. I thank rainbows and pots of gold; I thank the falling star, the heavens and the heart of night. I thank angels wings which bear up such things as the frail wounded heart. I thank God for his greatest art.

The love between a man and a woman.

Even if just a passing notion; just a glimpse of what heaven must be like. Even if, for just a second, for a minute or two or three
there were feelings of the heart
between you and me. It came to be. It came to pass.
For unknown reasons--and as unfair as it seems, it did not last.

I have to walk away quiet into a darkened night; I have to move on, and things will once again be alright. One morning, one day you will rise and I'll be gone. No words of farewell, no final thoughts or sweet caresses...just a kiss lightly upon your cheek. I have to go--my heart has nothing left within to keep.
